We are excited that you are considering a visit to First Church. We believe our church is very welcoming and friendly. Even so, we know that visiting any church for the first time can sometimes be a bit intimidating. This page is designed to answer many of the questions you might have prior to visiting.

Getting Here:

If you are familiar with Bellefontaine finding First Church is fairly simple. We are located on the corner of Sandusky and Main directly across from Family Video and Walgreens. If you are traveling from outside of Bellefontaine use our map to get easy to follow directions!

Traditional Service
The 9:00am service is a traditional service. In our traditional services you can expect traditional hymns and choruses accompanied by our pipe organ or piano, call to worship and prayer, and a message from God’s Word by our pastor, Joe Ziraldo. Holy Communion is celebrated in this service on the first Sunday of each month.
Ignite Contemporary Service
Our contemporary service is called Ignite and starts at 10:30am. The Ignite Praise Singers lead the congregation in praise songs. Following this time of praise and worship, we hear a message from God’s Word and conclude the service with communion each Sunday. Please feel free to dress casually: jeans/shorts/t-shirts are very common at our Ignite service.
Communion at Bellefontaine First
The United Methodist Church offers an open table for communion. This means all Christians are welcome at our table, whatever their denomination, as we believe all Christians are members of Christ’s family.

Nursery Care
Nursery care is available for infants and children who are not yet potty trained at the 10:30 Ignite service. The nursery is located just across from the main worship center. Pagers are available to assure parents their children are doing well while in the nursery. First Church also offers two family restrooms that are equipped with changing stations. A toddler sized restroom is available inside the nursery.
Pre-School – 5th Grade Students

Children’s Church is held every week at 10:00 between services. Children’s Church is a fun, hands on learning environment for your kids. Activities your kids might expect include singing, games, art projects and more. Bible Lessons are the main focus of our weekly meeting time. Your child will feel welcomed and cared for at Children’s Church. It is our goal to make it the best hour of your child’s week! Children are always more than welcome to sit with their parents.

Our church is a handicap accessible facility. Enter under the covered area off the parking lot and an elevator is available to take you to the various levels of the church.
